College scholarship available through Union Area Chamber of Commerce

UNION — The Union Area Chamber of Commerce is looking for candidates for their scholarship and business grant opportunities.

The scholarship is to assist a college bound student, or currently enrolled college student, that is a resident of the Chambers service area for a minimum of two years. This includes the towns of Appleton, Hope, Union, Waldoboro, Warren and Washington.

A scholarship of $500 will be awarded to the qualifying student at The Union Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner on April 29, 2020.

Those seeking awards from the Scholarship Fund must provide one letter of recommendation, submit a written essay explaining your career goals, and how the award will benefit you and a completed application which can be found at unionareachamber.org.

Deadline to apply is March 15.
 

A business grant has also been established to assist a current Chamber member, in good standing, in pursuit of continuing education, and/or professional development as it relates to their business.

A grant of up to $500 will be awarded to the qualifying candidate also on April 29, 2020.

Those seeking awards from the Grant Fund will also find the application online at unionareachamber.org.

The Union Area Chamber of Commerce, founded in 1952, proudly supports the unique businesses of Midcoast Maine’s inland region, according to the Chamber, in a news release.
