Charity corn hole tournament coming to Rockport June 5
ROCKPORT — Cornhole fans are encouraged to participate Saturday, June 5 in a corn hole tournament hosted by the Satellite Club of West Bay Rotary at Flatbread on Route 1 in Rockport.
The event, beginning at noon, will serve as a fundraiser to raise funds for an area charity. In September 2020, the first edition of the tournament was held and raised more than $1,400 for Area Interfaith Outreach.
Providing energy and heat-savings through economical window inserts built by volunteers, Window Dressers will receive the net proceeds from the 2021 edition of the event.
Cost for a team of two players is $40 and all Maine CDC protocols for outdoor gatherings will be observed. Registration must be completed by June 1.
Food and beverage items will be available for purchase from Flatbread Pizza, and there will be opportunities to participate in raffle drawings as well.
Prizes include gift cards to local merchants. Rain date is Sunday, June 6.
‘Sweet T’ West Bay Rotarian Tom Chester will make a return to the June event and provided music and served as emcee at the September tournament.
Participants and observers are asked to bring their own masks/face coverings and wear them when social distancing is not possible. Teams will be given their bags to use for tossing for the length of the tournament.
For more information and to register a team, please contact Abe Dugal, 236-8376.
The Satellite of West Bay Rotary meets on the second and fourth Thursday of the month, 5:15 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. by Zoom. FMI visit westbayrotaryofmain.org/sitepage/rotary-satellite-club-of-west-bay-camden-suns.
