TROY — A Carmel man was arrested Jan. 7, following a reported domestic disturbance on Ward Hill Road. 

Waldo County Sheriff’s Office Corporal Greg Jones and Deputy Cassandra McDonald responded to the scene, where they spoke with the complainant. 

The victim reportedly told law enforcement that after she had arrived at her residence, she was met there by Corey Gerry, 31. 

Deputies were told that a verbal conflict had escalated to physical violence when Gerry punched the victim in the face, in addition to striking the victim with a small club, according to a press release. 

The victim was able to leave the residence and make contact with law enforcement. 

Gerry was arrested and charged with domestic assault.
