Camden Winterfest continues today with more CamJam action

CAMDEN — The Camden Winterfest got underway Jan. 30, with lots to see in the library’s Amphitheatre and in Harbor Park.
Atlantic Avenue was closed to traffic as tables were set up with hot drinks and treats for sale, while a horse and carriage made loops around town, picking up and dropping off loads of passengers throughout the day. Teams of ice sculptors got to work on their frozen creations beginning around 11 a.m., while spectators and supporters milled around, cheering them on.
Across the street in Harbor Park, skiers and snowboarders took turns demonstrating tricks on Maine’s only harbor-side terrain park, created specially for the CamJam Freestyle Ski Competition over two days earlier in the week, courtesy of a Snow Bowl snow-making machine and a donated Pison Bully groomer.
Day two of the CamJam Freestyle Ski Competition kicks off at 10:30 a.m. today in Harbor Park. Come cheer on the younger skiers, as they demonstrate their tricks on the terrain park elements.
