Camden’s American Legion provides list of area Veteran’s Day events

KNOX COUNTY — For those wishing to commemorate Veteran’s Day in some fashion, plenty of opportunities are scheduled throughout the region.

Below is an abbreviated list sent to the Pen Bay Pilot.

Nov. 8, 7:30-7:45 a.m.; Chris Wolfe Show in Rockland, WRFR FM 93.3 and 99.3.  Talking about Veterans Day events in the district, Veterans Day in general. Rosey Gerry will be playing a few tunes.

Nov. 8, 9:15 a.m.; Appleton Village School Veterans appreciation meet with students, snacks and lunch.

Nov. 9, 4-6 p.m.; free beef stew dinner for Veterans, guests by donation. Post 30, Pearl Street, Camden, in the downstairs dining room.  

Nov. 10, 7:30-9:30 a.m.; Public pancake breakfast at American Legion Post 30, Pearl St. Camden, in the dining room. Vets eat free, others $8 per person

Nov. 11, 7:30 a.m.; Camden Hills High School free breakfast for Vets at school cafeteria. Any Veteran and family welcome.

Nov. 11, 11:45 a.m.;  Camden Village Green for War Memorial Vigil.  

Nov. 11, 2 - 4 p.m.; Post 30, Pearl Street, Camden. Salute to Veterans open house, public invited, all Vets please attend and wear your Legion or service hat or cap, according to Post 30.  Readings, music, stories and snacks. Hosted by Rosey Gerry. All are welcome, open to to general public no charge.

Nov. 15, 4-5 p.m.; Post 30, Post Everlasting ceremony. “Vets please attend, this is the very final event we do for our comrades who have passed this year, said Post 30.  We have families coming of our deceased Brothers.” Snacks after.
