Birthday open house at Millay House Rockland
ROCKLAND — Millay House Rockland will celebrate Edna St. Vincent Millay's 133rd birthday on Saturday, Feb. 22, from 2 to 4 p.m.
"2024 was an amazing year of growth for Millay House Rockland, and the open house provides an opportunity to thank everyone who joined the organization as members and participated in 2024 hosted events," said Millay House Rockland, in a news release.
During the open house, Millay House Rockland will announce the opening of submissions for the organization’s second annual Writer-in-Residence program. This year, a winner for two different residencies, one in October 2025 and the other in July 2026, will be chosen. The identity of the final judge will also be announced during the open house.
As a bonus for poetry lovers, Millay House Rockland asks open house attendees to please come with your favorite Vincent poem for an informal poetry reading between 3 and 3:30 p.m. Also find refreshments (rumored to be Vincent-decorated cupcakes), conversation, poetry, and community.
