BELFAST — Law Enforcement authorities this morning are continuing to seek a Belfast man after two people were shot in the city late Wednesday night, leaving one dead and one critically injured.

Maine State Police spokesman Steve McCausland said that Todd Gilday, 44, is being sought in connection to the shootings. Gilday is considered armed and dangerous and was last known to be driving a 2007 gray Nissan Altima with Maine lobster plate “FOREX.”

Belfast police and Waldo County Sheriff’s deputies responded to Waldo Avenue (Route 137) around 11 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, where a woman was killed and a man critically wounded inside the home. McCausland said the man was rushed to a hosital and is undergoing emergency surgery. The victims names have not been released.

Gilday is described as 5-foot 9-inches tall and weighing 280 pounds. Anyone seeing him or his car should call 911 immediately.
