The Boothbay Harbor Opera House has been celebrating its 20th season with a full schedule of concerts featuring acclaimed artists and community events this year. The final performance of the season brings House favorite Ellis Paul to the stage with his 30th anniversary tour including Red Molly’s Laurie MacAllister, Don Conoscenti, and Radoslav Lorković on Friday, Dec. 29.

Ellis has been described as an astute storyteller, poetic and literate, with a stellar stage presence and one of the defining voices of American songwriting. Though some may refer to him as a folk singer, he is more - a singular storyteller, a musician whose words reach out from inside and yet also express the feelings, thoughts and sensibilities that most people can relate to in one way or another, regardless of age or upbringing. The exhilaration of the open road. A celebration of heroes. The hope for redemption. Descriptions of those things that are near and dear. The sharing of love…, intimate, passionate and enduring.

“Despite his success and sense of history, [Ellis] remains an artist with his eye on the future and an interest in discovering the transformative potential of his music, ” says the New York Times.

Ellis hails from Aroostook County and brings the very best of Maine to the stage tonight.
