Author Tim Cotton holds meet and greet in Belfast, July 8
Left Bank Books, in downtown Belfast, invites the public to stop by the shop on Tuesday, July 8, between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., to meet Tim Cotton, who will be signing copies of his fourth collection of essays, Donut Holes for the Soul. Cotton, now retired, was a lieutenant with the Bangor (Maine) Police Department and best known for creating the “Duck of Justice” and writing Facebook essays written in an everyman’s voice.
The July 8 event is a “meet-and-greet”; no reservations are needed.
Like his previous three books, Got Warrants?, The Detective in the Dooryard, and Dawn in the Dooryard, Cotton’s latest book celebrates simple pleasures, timeless friendships, and the enduring bonds of family and community.
"From the familiar sounds of a screen door on a warm summer day to lessons learned from helping his mother move, Cotton’s stories evoke laughter, warmth, and a sense of home," said Left Bank Books, in a news release.
Readers will find heartfelt tales of unexpected kindness, like a helpful neighbor who goes above and beyond, a chance encounter that brings redemption, and reflections on fatherhood sparked by a classic car.
"With vivid anecdotes that capture everything from road trips and roadside chats to the charm of a well-worn flannel shirt, Donut Holes for the Soul invites readers to slow down, reminisce, and find joy in the small things that make life big," said Left Bank.
Ample free parking is available in front of the shop and in an adjacent city lot.
