Anthony Antolini to direct community Messiah Sing in Thomaston, Dec. 12

    THOMASTON — The Episcopal Church of St. John Baptist will host a community Messiah Sing, Tuesday, Dec. 12, at 7:30 p.m., in Watts Hall, Thomaston. 

    The event is directed by Anthony Antolini, artistic director of Down East Singers. Members of Mozart Mentors Orchestra and keyboard player Sean Fleming will provide accompaniment.  

    All area choristers interested in singing the Christmas portion and the Hallelujah Chorus of G.F. Handel's 1741 Messiah are invited to participate. Singers will be seated in sections by voice part. Singers should bring their own scores.  

    Soloists include soprano Erin Chenard, contralto Jazmin DeRice, tenor David Myers-Wakeman and bass John David Adams.  

    Non-singers are welcome to listen if seating is available.

    The event is free; donations are welcome.  

    Watts Hall is at 174 Main Street at the intersection of Knox Street. Parking is available on Main and Knox streets and behind the Business Block. The auditorium is accessible by elevator for those who have difficulties with stairs.
