ROCKLAND – Amy Estelle Rackliff, 41, went into the arms of the lord on Thursday, July 29, 2021, to once again be reunited with the grandmother that she loved so dearly, Marguerite L Wood.

Amy was born in Rockland to Estelle L (Wood) and Robert E Rackliff on September 23, 1979.

She was raised in Rockland and attended local schools where she enjoyed cheering and proudly bringing home many certificates for achieving student of the month. True to Amy’s ambitious nature she later completed her
GED courses with flying colors.

She was a talented artist and enjoyed sharing her works with family and friends.

Early in life she had a desire to become a Marine Biologist and be able to work with dolphins after seeing one in the waters off of the island of Spruce Head and falling in love with everything about it. She was an animal lover her entire life and had several dogs that she cherished as well as many cats.

After some travel she returned home and found her calling in following in her dad’s footsteps and becoming a gifted carpenter. Under her father’s skillful guidance, she worked shoulder to shoulder with the men, never skipping a beat and at times outshining them with her determination and strength.

Along with her skills came a newly acquired muscular physique that enabled her to confidently find her place with the crew. She earned the respect of her co-workers and they frequently played pranks on each other. They definitely knew how to make a work day fun!

The love of Amy’s life, Chris Mansfield Senior, came into her life in 2000 and together they created her most exceptional work of art… her beautiful son, Christopher Junior. He was Amy’s most precious gift and she devoted her life to him. They spent many loving hours together laughing at one of their favorite shows, Family Guy, when she wasn’t watching her other fave, Ghost Hunters!

She will be remembered for her extraordinary ability to overcome the obstacles that life put in her way and persevered till the very end. Her tenacity touched many hearts and left them in awe of her ability to overcome.

She was truly a warrior!

Through the years her passion became to help others by sharing her story and in fact she was told by one person that hearing Amy’s testimony changed her life. Amy’s legacy and story lies in the hearts of her family.

She is survived by her parents, Estelle and Robert; her son Christopher Jr.; her life partner, Chris Sr.; siblings Ann Gergis (George), Ben Rackliff and Patricia Sawyer.

Amy also leaves behind many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins who loved her dearly.

You will live on forever in our hearts and memories sweet Amy!

The family will have a private celebration of life for Amy in September.
