2025 Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics runs Rockland to Camden, June 4
ROCKLAND — For area residents and businesses wishing to wave to, or make posters for, the 2025 Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Maine, this year's Rockland to Camden run will be held Wednesday, June 4.
Runners take off at 8 a.m. sharp from Maritime Farms at the Thomaston-Rockland town line. They will trot down Route 1, along Main Street and Camden Street, arriving at Home Depot sometime between 8:30 and 8:45 a.m. From there, Rockport PD takes hold of torch and carries it north on Route 1, through Rockport to Downtown Camden near French and Brawn. From there, the torch will be driven through Lincolnville and Northport before the next handover with Belfast PD.
The prior day, June 3, the torch will have been carried north, starting at West Bath at 8 a.m. and relayed to Applebees, in Thomaston.
Friday afternoon, June 6, the torch will reach Orono and the cauldron will be lit at University of Maine to kick off the 2025 Special Olympics Maine Summer Games.
Law Enforcement are the “Guardians of the Flame” for Special Olympics worldwide.
