The greater Rockland community, Mid-Coast Recovery Coalition and the family of Ryan Gamage are invited to come together at a pancake breakfast to celebrate the life of Ryan Gamage and to dedicate “The Ryan Gamage Stairway to Recovery” at the men’s recovery house in Rockland (The Friends House) to help men recovery from addiction.  The breakfast will be held at Rockland Congregational Church, 180 Limerock Street, on Saturday, March 2 from 8 to 10 AM. Suggested donation is $10 (children under 12 free) going to a cause that meant the world to Mr. Gamage, a stairway addition to The Friends House, which will enable the MCRC’s recovery residence for men in Rockland to serve more men in recovery.

“Right now, we can serve only four men at The Friends House,” MCRC board member Vicky Yates said, “but with the stairway, we will be allowed to house as many as eight additional men in recovery from substance use disorder. And the need in so great.”

Ryan Gamage generously donated his time and talent to the men’s recovery house, and his family wants to continue that tradition in his honor.

Chef Kerry Altiero of Café Miranda will head the kitchen with his usual flair, and aided by Gamage family members and MCRC volunteers, he promises to produce a classic pancake breakfast with all the trimmings.

Gordon Smith, the Director of Maine’s Opioid Response, will be present and the Governor has been invited to attend as well.
