Attention high school juniors -- this is an important time to make some decisions about your college application process!

The class of 2017 is the first group that has the option to take the new SAT.  Few copies of the new SAT are available, and indications are that it will be a very tough test.  The experts at The Study Hall have some advice for you based on what we have learned from doing our research on the tests and the changes that are planned.

Juniors--you have options.

You do not have to take the new SAT, and we recommend you consider taking one of the other tests that are available.  Colleges accept scores from any or all of the old SAT, new SAT or ACT.

Why not take one of the established tests and get a score you can use without worrying about or waiting for the new SAT to be released?

The Study Hall will be offering prep classes and individual tutoring starting in July of 2015 for the junior year testing schedule.  You can take a practice ACT and an old SAT and see which one you are more comfortable with.  Then study with us so you can get your best score.  All your college admission tests can be taken care of by December!  You will never have to take the new SAT if you start planning now.

If you don’t get your testing done this fall, you can still prep with us for the new SAT or the ACT next spring, which is the traditional time for juniors to do their college testing.  Just remember that by then, there will not be any more old SAT.  In order to have your best choice of options, you need to start this fall.

Junior prep classes will run from October 18 to December for the old SAT, and test dates are December 5, 2015 and January 23, 2016.

ACT prep can be done fall or spring.  Test dates are September, October, December, 2015 and February, April and June 2016.

If you wait until next spring, the new SAT prep will begin in March and the test dates will be May and June, 2016.

Our tutors at The Study Hall have over 15 years of experience with the old SAT and the ACT.  Why not use our help and get the scores you need before your options go away?
