Chocolate That Can Love Back – Trekkers’ Local Treats Student Fundraiser

Rockland – It’s cold, it’s snowy, it’s the pandemic, and supporting our neighbors has never been more important. See? There are plenty of reasons to buy chocolate and coffee from Trekkers’ student catalog fundraiser, aptly named “Local Treats.”

Details: Now through March 9, Trekkers students are selling local hand-made treats from Rockland-based confectioner, Bixby & Co. and also Rock City’s ‘Keep on Trekkin’ roast of coffee. From each sale, students receive 30% to help pay for program dues, thanks to the generosity of both Bixby & Co. and Rock City.

What are dues? Through Trekkers, a student joins a team of up to twenty other students, Program Managers, and volunteers. Together they embark on six-year journey to get outside and explore the wilderness, learn about new cultures and try new activities, do community service, and travel on expeditions (when safe again). Dues help pay for the activities and expenses throughout the year.

Who do I buy from? First, reach out to a Trekker student you know and see if they are fundraising – they will give you the website where you can purchase items directly. Then, the student you are supporting will contact you to arrange for a pick-up or delivery of your items.

Don’t know any Trekkers but still like treats? No problem, you can still support Trekkers and instead pick up your items from the Trekkers office. Just visit this site here to order.
