The Belfast Cooperative will host a cheese making class taught by Heather Q Hay-Brackett in the Belfast Free Library’s Abbott Room at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, October 26th.
Heather has taught workshops on everything from persimmon cookie baking to screen printing, and will this time share her considerable know-how on the world of cheese making. This particular class will cover the bases of basic techniques, including suggested tools and timelines. Hay-Brackett will be demoing queso fresco (meaning “fresh cheese”)- a mild soft cheese made from local ingredients. You can sign up for this class at any of the Belfast Co-op registers or call the Co-op at 207-338-2532.
Hay-Brackett lives on a small homestead farm, where her gardens, ducks and chickens provide plenty of resources (not to mention entertainment value).
