Rockport’s select board, library committee to talk about library’s future
ROCKPORT — The Rockport Select Board and the town's Library Committee will consider establishing a working committee to help oversee the immediate future of the Rockport Public Library. The board and committee will meet this evening, Sept. 10, at the Rockport Opera House meeting room, at 5 p.m. This joint workshop will be televised on public access Channel 22, as well as streamed live at http://livestream.com/Rockportmaine.
At its Aug. 10 meeting, the Select Board agreed to pick up the speed in determining next steps for relocating the town's public library. The town is looking for a temporary space to house 32,000 books, programs and staff for what could be a three-year period.
