Free computer classes at Belfast library in May 2025
BELFAST — The Belfast Free Library and the National Digital Equity Center (NDEC) will be offering two free computer classes in May 2025: “Windows 11 Basics” on May 5, 6, and 7, from 2 to 3 p.m., followed by “macOS Basics” on May 12, 13, and 14, from 2 to 3 p.m. Both of these classes are made up of three sessions, and attendees should plan on attending all three sessions for their chosen class.
In “Windows 11 Basics” attendees will learn how to get the most out of their Windows 11 computers by understanding the operating system, navigating the desktop and taskbar, the File Explorer, working with files, using Microsoft Edge, and more. This course will take place on May 5, 6, and 7 from 2pm to 3pm. Attendees should bring a Windows 11 computer with Internet access.
The “macOS Basics” course will cover how to use Apple’s operating system. This class starts with the basic functions of the macOS operating system and how to navigate through folders, files, and menus. Organizing, moving, and saving files will be covered too. This course will take place on May 12, 13, and 14 from 2pm to 3pm. Attendees should bring an Apple computer with Internet access.
These classes are free to Maine residents, but space is limited and registration is required. To register for one or both of these classes, please go to the NDEC website at https://digitalequitycenter.org/classes/class_location/belfast-free-library/. These classes will take place in the library’s 3rd floor conference room.
