Will Brown to perform during Belfast Common House Concert Series, Dec. 16

    BELFAST — Will Brown will be giving a concert of songs and tunes from the folk, Americana and Transatlantic genres on Saturday, Dec. 16, at 7 p.m., as part of the Belfast Common House Concert Series. Special guest and local Fiddler Willy Clemetson will accompany Brown for parts of the concert.
     
    The concert is located at the Belfast Cohousing and Ecovillage, 25 Village Rd. in Belfast, Maine.

    There is a $15 suggested donation and seating is limited though there is a guest sign up at the Common House Concerts website: https://sites.google.com/view/bcech/will-brown
     
    Brown has accompanied and recorder with many Maine musicians over the past 40 years, including Gordon Bok, Anne and David Dodson, Cindy Kallet, Grey Larsen, George Fowler and Sara Grey. He’s been a guest performer and teacher for The Folklore Society of Greater Washington several times and his arrangement of Utah Phillips’ Going Away was a part of the 2009 Grammy nominated compilation Singing Through The Hard Times.
     
    Willy Clemetson grew up in Belfast and has toured with a variety of projects, including Northern Harmony and the bands Spintuition, Springtide and Heartwood. He has developed a deep gratitude for the genuine connection and community that music inspires.
     
    “Will and Willy have sat in at music sessions together and this concert will be an opportunity for them to play together as a duet as well as for you to enjoy what they've cooked up,” said Will Brown, in a news release.
