A few minutes chatting with a crowd

Waiting on the bus in downtown Camden for Snow Bowl fun

CAMDEN — A crowd was waiting on the bus in downtown Camden and looking forward to the fun at the Camden Snow Bowl Saturday, Feb. 8. The green shed placed on the street at the Village Green was manned by two ladies who collected the fee and handed out tickets. The line stretched from the street, through the Green and spilled out onto Chestnut Street.

One bus would arrive every 15 to 20 minutes and load with passengers for the short ride to the Snow Bowl. Ticket holders waited 20 minutes to an hour while the line advanced with each arriving bus. The buses were provided by Luce Transportation.

Those in line said they knew they would be taking a bus and others who came from out of town said they had gone to the Snow Bowl only to find the parking lot full. They then made the trip into town for the bus. Spirits remained high and no one complained about the cold or the wait.

Andy McKenna of Bangor took his place in line while holding a sign held that said, “Viva la Stool.” He explained that it stood for Barstoolsports.com (http://www.barstoolsports.com/). A website blog by the common man, for the common man. He said barstoolsports.com’s  president was at the Snow Bowl with a team and they were looking to get Internet-famous.
