BELFAST — The Grand Jury handed down 14 indictments Jan. 15, including three separate charges of gross sexual assault involving children.

According to court documents, Maine State Police began investigating Richard D. Grey, 28, of Ashland, after a June 30 referral from the Department of Health and Human Services.

Grey, who is acquainted with the child's family, is alleged to have been babysitting when the assault occurred.

Maine State Police Detective Hugh I. Landry met with the child July 1, along with a caseworker, who led the interview.

Grey has been charged with gross sexual assault.

Detective Landry also investigated Tyler L. Redman, 20, of Swanville, following a reported sexual assault involving a child, age 13.

Landry traveled to a Bangor area hospital Aug. 19, 2015, to interview the minor. Detective Landry made contact with Redman Aug. 20, and he denied the sexual assault.
