Social justice folk singer Crys Matthews comes to the Strand, Feb. 1
ROCKLAND — Social justice singer-songwriter Crys Matthews will appear on the Strand Theatre stage on Thursday, Feb. 1, at 7:30 p.m. Known as a “troubadour of truth,” the Nashville resident is an award-winning, prolific lyricist and composer, according to the Strand, in a news release.
“Matthews blends Americana, folk, blues, and bluegrass into a bold, complex performance steeped in traditional melodies punctuated by honest, original lyrics,” said the Strand.
Her hope-fueled, love-filled, social-justice album, called Changemakers, was released in 2021, and the title track was named the International Folk Music Association's "Song of the Year" in May of 2022.
Tickets are $15/Advance, $18/Day of Show, and are available at RocklandStrand.com, by calling (207) 594-0070, or at the walk-up box office when the theater is open for shows. Beer and wine will be available at concessions.
The Strand Theatre is located at 345 Main Street, Rockland.
