ROCKLAND — Rockland Fire and EMS has promoted two long-time firefighters within its department.

Patrick Lowe will step into the position of Assistant Fire Chief, assigned to C-Shift, and Thomas Shook will take Lowe’s previous position as lieutenant of B-Shift.

The promotions follow the retirement of Kenneth Elwell, who had continued with the department for two years after his official retirement date.

Lieutenant Shook began his career with Rockland in 2004, according to a posting to the RFD Facebook page. Asst. Chief Lowe, son and brother of firefighters, began working with Rockland in 2005.

“Both have shown outstanding leadership in their existing roles,” said Rockland Fire and EMS, in a news release. “We all wish them the best of luck in their new positions,” said RFD.
