Louisa Stancioff to perform indie folk-pop mix at Underground, Feb. 8
BELFAST — Louisa Stancioff brings her indie folk-pop mix Thursday, February 8, to the Underground Lounge, in the basement of the Belfast Maskers Theatre, at 17 Court Street. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., the show starts at 7 p.m.
“All hailing from the Midcoast, Stancioff and her bandmates, brothers Dave and Dan Kelly (drums and guitar, respectively), have been building a growing fan base over the last year and a half on the strength of great material, dynamic musicianship, and Stancioff’s charismatic vocals,” said the Underground, in a news release.
During that time Stancioff has been signed to a label, put out a couple of singles (including “Redneck Yaught Club”), toured with Darlingside and Pokey Lafarge, and is about to drop her first full-length album, When We Were Looking.
“Through it all she’s remained true to her roots, returning to Maine after living around the country and keeping a thread of her Bulgarian heritage alive in the interesting melodies which help make her songwriting so compelling,” said the release.
Tickets are $10, cash only at the door.
The Underground Lounge offers shows on Thursday evenings twice a month along with beverages and homemade treats. Those interested in receiving email notices about upcoming shows can email sashakutsy2018@gmail.com.
