Eileen A. Dubinett, obituary

BELFAST — Eileen Ada Aldrich Dubinett, 81, widow of Dr. Nathan J. Dubinett, died peacefully on March 7, 2021 at her home in Belfast after a brief illness.

Born in Ames, Iowa on March 26, 1939, she was the daughter of John P. and Ada (Bottomley) Aldrich.
 
Eileen lived in Nampa, Indiana and then Lima, Ohio where her parents lived.  On June 28, 1981, she married Dr. Nathan J. Dubinett in Newark, New Jersey. In 1988 following the death of her husband, Eileen moved to Belfast.
 
She was a member of the Belfast United Methodist Church where they were as much her family, as was her birth family. She loved her church family and enjoyed many great times and special moments with them.
 
Eileen loved traveling and would take a major trip someplace new and exciting each year. Her last international trip was in 2019 when she travelled to Chile. In January 2020, she drove across the country to be with her grandkids, Joey & Ben, in Oregon. She loved life and celebrated many special times with her gal pals, family and church family. She volunteered and would travel to help those in need and enjoyed giving back to her community on every level. Belfast, Maine gave her a wonderful life and she loved living there.
 
Predeceased by her husband, Dr. Nathan J. Dubinett in 1987; she is survived by two daughters, Amy C. Jeppesen of Mooresville, North Carolina, and Heidi A. Gornik and her husband, Michael J. Gornik, of Corvallis, Oregon; grandchildren, Joseph D.G. Gornik and Benjamin A. Gornik, children of Heidi and Michael Gornik and her younger sister, Stephanie Oxley.
 
Private interment was held in the Mt. Hebron Cemetery in Montclair, New Jersey.
