'If a Tree Falls: A New Musical' August production announces cast, crew
The production team of "If a Tree Falls: A New Musical" announces the cast and crew of its August production.
Written by recent Ecology Learning Center graduates Carolyn Vin Phelps Sholz and Etta Hughes, this musical will be performed from August 14 to August 24, at the Basil Burwell Community Theater, 17 Court Street in Belfast.
"Although the show is being produced independently, the Belfast Maskers enthusiastically support this production," said Sasha Kutsy, in a news release.
"If a Tree Falls" has gathered a cast and crew for its second production, after debuting at the Cliff Arts Center in Unity last winter.
The crew consists of Stage Director Vin Phelps Sholz, Musical Director Etta Hughes, Stage Manager Ivy Lobato, Producer Sasha Kutsy, Accompanist Mo Lotman, Choreographer Maria Jacobs, with technical assistance from Tyson Hoffman and Erik Perkins, and directing consultation with Julia Olson.
"I can’t wait to see the musical take its new form with a more experienced cast, a more robust production team, and a band," said co-writer and musical director Etta Hughes.
The musical will be performed by Etta Hughes, Malaya Moores, Armonie Cohen-Solal, Ava Trout, Allison Pyo, Neal Jacobs, Robyn Tarantino, Sarah Wilcox-Hughes, Jack Conway, Isla Hughes, and Miah Caron. Some of the performers were involved in the original production, while others will bring a fresh take to the musical.
The production will also be a fundraiser to help Upstream Watch buy and protect the area at the mouth of the Little River, supporting both public access and the preservation of critical natural habitat.
Performances will be nightly at 7 p.m. on August 15, 16, 22, and 23 with matinees on August 17 and 24 at 2 p.m.
Tickets will be $15 /adults and $12/children. Tickets go on sale July 11 on http://belfastmaskers.com. For more information, email IfATreeFalls2025@gmail.com.
