Free car seat safety checks, pumpkin painting for families at Knox Clinic
The Knox Clinic will host a Free Car Seat Safety Check event Saturday, Oct. 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the clinic’s back parking lot at 22 White Street in Rockland. Families are invited to stop by for a professional safety check with Jess Bowen, RN, who is state-certified to ensure car seats are safely and securely installed.
In addition to the safety checks, children will be able to enjoy free pumpkin painting, making the event both fun and practical for families, according to Knox Clinic.
The event is part of the Knox Clinic’s ongoing effort to expand access to wraparound care and community wellness services. Over the past year, the Clinic has significantly broadened its offerings—adding new medical, dental, and mental health programs, as well as partnerships that support families beyond the exam room.
“Our mission has always been to meet people where they are and remove barriers to care,” said Meredith Batley, Executive Director of the Knox Clinic. “Hosting events like this reflects our growing focus on prevention, safety, and supporting the whole family, not just treating illness, but promoting wellbeing at every level.”
The car seat safety checks are part of a broader shift toward comprehensive, community-rooted healthcare, connecting families to a network of support that includes primary care, counseling, dental care, and wellness programs.
“Something as simple as helping parents make sure their car seat is installed correctly can have a huge impact,” said Jess Bowen, RN, who will be leading the checks. “It’s about keeping kids safe, but it’s also about building trust and connection. That’s what makes this kind of work so meaningful.”
The event is free and open to all families, regardless of insurance status or connection to the clinic. No appointment is needed.
