Albert W. Hallowell, obituary

OWLS HEAD — Albert W. Hallowell, 86, passed unexpectedly and peacefully, Friday, April 12, 2024 at Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport.

Born in Portland, Maine, June 11, 1937 he was the son of Frank and Helen Lillias Hallowell. Albert attended and graduated from Thomaston High School in 1955. After graduation he entered the United Stated Coast Guard where he was stationed on Mantincus Rock.

After being honorably discharged he worked as a Captain of The Maine, a transport vessel for Maine Department of Sea and Shore Fisheries. At the same time, he was the owner of Coastal Diversified where he worked on boats, motors, and trailers.

Albert was always a hard worker. When he wasn’t working you could find him boating, fishing, hunting, camping or spending time at his cottage on Crawford Pond. He loved his golden retrievers, most recently ‘Marley’ who was his best friend.

Predeceased by his parents, wife Judith Hallowell, son Jeffery Hallowell, and a daughter-in-law, Jill Hallowell; Albert is survived by his daughter Nancy Fahkoury and former husband George of Orlando, Florida; grandchildren, Gino Fakhoury, Gabriella Fakhoury, Ethan Hallowell; a half-sister, Constance Hallowell Beasley; sisters-in-law Dottie Grant of Rockland, Barbara Verdone and her husband Larry of Gloucester, Virginia; as well as several cousins, nieces, nephews, and a loving extended family and many special friends.

Family and friends are invited to visit Monday, April 22, 2024, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock Street, Rockland, where a celebration of his life will be held Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at 10 a.m.
