BELFAST — A group of residents quickly gathered at the Belfast Municipal Airport Sunday morning, Jan. 29, to declare firm support for the U.S. residents with green cards and refugees from Muslim countries detained Saturday night at JFK airport in New York City, in response to President Donald Trump's Executive Order banning Muslims from entering U.S.
In an email, the residents said, “We are also standing in solidarity with the tens of thousands of Americans who likewise descended on their airports to protest discrimination against Muslims, and who are committed to an immigration policy based on compassion and need.”
