UPDATE: Knox County Sheriff’s Deputies arrest Warren man on multiple charges: burglary, aggravated assault, unlawful sexual touching
UPDATE (June 16): A Warren man accused of breaking into a home and assaulting a woman with a stun gun is being held at the Knox County Jail on $50,000 cash bail.
Daryl D. Green Sr., 57, was arrested early Monday morning June 16 by the Knox County Sheriff’s Office and charged with burglary, aggravated assault, unlawful sexual touching, and criminal use of an electronic weapon.
According to the affidavit filed in Knox County Court by police, on Sunday night, June 15, the woman heard a loud noise on the first floor of her home and went downstairs with a stun gun.
She opened doors inside her residence that could be hiding places and there was resistance when she tried to open a closet door. Green came out of the closet with a rope around his neck and began attacking the woman who attempted to tase him in self defense, the affidavit said.
The victim told police that he struck her with closed fist strikes, shocked her multiple times with the stun gun in the location of her heart, strangled her with his hands, and gagged her with a piece of cloth, the affidavit said.
Her injuries included an abrasion to the top of her scalp, a large red mark on her back and hemorrhaging and a loose tooth from being gagged, according to the police report.
The woman fought back and eventually was able to free herself from Green who apologized and left the home by the front door.
She was transported to Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport where she was treated for her injuries.
Green made his initial appearance in Knox County Court on June 16 before Justice Jeffrey Hjelm. He will appear in court again on Aug. 14 for a dispositional conference.
