Jeff Newsom, MD, will be joining Brian Pierce, MD and Pediatrician Adda Winkes, MD at Megunticook Medicine, a Direct Primary Care (DPC) practice, "a modern, patient-centered approach to medicine that puts time and relationships back at the heart of care," said  Megunticook Medicine, in a news release.

"Through the DPC model, Dr. Newsom offers longer visits, same-day or next-day appointments, and direct access when you need it, without the rushed feeling of a hospital clinic or insurance based office," said the release.

He is now accepting patients of all ages, from infants to older adults.

Dr. Newsom has special interests in musculoskeletal medicine, dermatology, and adolescent health, and brings a thoughtful, hands-on approach to each of his patient relationships.

A graduate of the University of Vermont College of Medicine, Dr. Newsom completed his Family Medicine residency at Maine Medical Center in Portland. Since moving to the Belfast area in 2010, he has practiced locally at Seaport Community Health Center and with MaineHealth, serving patients in Belfast and Stockton Springs.

Dr. Newsom lives in Belmont with his wife and two teenage children. Outside of medicine, he enjoys outdoor activities including biking, paddling, rowing, climbing, gardening, and travel.
