BELFAST — Senator Mike Thibodeau recently recognized Waldo County Communications Director Owen Smith with a Legislative Sentiment Award for receiving the Maine Dispatch Director of the Year in May. The sentiment was presented at a recent Commissioners Court Session.

Smith was nominated as Director of the Year based on his positive attitude and willingness to act as mentor to many employees. He has worked tirelessly to improve working conditions for employees as well as the service provided to the community in his 22 years in the field of dispatch.
