Rockport woman charged with OUI, endangering the welfare of a child
ROCKLAND — Rockland police arrested and charged Annie Gross, 28, of Rockport with operating under the influence and endangering the welfare of a child Monday night.
In a press release Wednesday morning, Rockland Police Sgt. Don Finnegan said that police were called April 18 to a local restaurant after citizens reported that a woman in the drive-thru appeared impaired and nodding off behind the wheel of her vehicle.
Officer William Smith responded, and found the woman, identified as Gross, still behind the wheel, with an 18-month-old child as a passenger.
Knox County Sheriff's Sgt. Pat Polky conducted a drug influence evaluation on Gross as part of the investigation. Finnegan said the child was picked up by his grandmother.
Gross is currently out on bail, awaiting arraignment.
