Rockland pair arrested for making counterfeit money
ROCKLAND — Two Rockland residents remain in jail following their arrests last night, March 15, by Rockland Police involving counterfeit currency, according to a press release from Sgt. Don Finnegan, Rockland Police Department.
Charlotte E. Shellman, 41, and Charles H. Dodge, 33, both of Rockland, were each arrested and charged with aggravated forgery, a Class B felony.
Shellman was also charged with unlawful possession of scheduled drugs.
The arrests followed an investigation by Detective Sergeant Russell Thompson and Detective Joel Neal, who were assisted by agents from Maine Drug Enforcement Agency.
A search warrant was conducted around 4:30 p.m. on March 15, at the Thomaston Street residence where Dodge and Shellman had been staying. Evidence including a printer/scanner and counterfeit $50 bills was seized. Shellman and Dodge were both arrested at that time, according to the release.
Dodge and Shellman are currently being held at the Knox County Jail on $10,000 bail each.
