BELFAST – During the Feb. 25, Waldo County Commissioners Court Session, the board of county commissioners announced that $75,000.00 in tax funds is being returned to the 26 municipalities as part of a reduced tax assessment for 2016.
The commissioners, in consideration of difficult financial times for Waldo County taxpayers, determined that the county could reduce the 2016 Tax Assessment to the municipalities by this amount.
The $75,000.00 was proportionately reduced from each municipalities' assessment for 2016.
