Harold A. Allen, obituary
BELFAST — Harold Arthur Allen, was born Dec. 7, 1935, in Garland to AnnaBelle(Lambert) Allen and William Oscar Allen.
Hal grew up in Dexter, and loved to tell stories of his family and very happy childhood there. At a young age he was introduced to playing the trumpet in school and it became a love that carried him through adulthood. Hal took his trumpet to Korea with him when he served there with the Air Force, and he played in the Air Force Band.
When he returned home from serving in the Air Force, Hal began to study the Bible with Jehovah's Witnesses, and from that study he learned that war would be a thing of the past on Jehovah God's new earth. He served as an elder for many years in the Augusta and Belfast congregations.
Hal met Eleanor in 1998 and they married in New York in 1990. Together they enjoyed the focus of their lives, which was being part of the congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses and sharing with others in the community, the Bible-based hope God promises to give us of a resurrection of those who have died and hope for a peaceful life on an earth.
He was predeceased by his brother, William; and his sisters, Colleen and Ruth.
Hal is survived by his wife, Eleanor; his sons Michael and his wife, Adria, and Glen and his wife, Sue; his grandson, Keith and his wife, Heather; and his very precious great-granddaughter, Haley.
A talk will be held in memory of Hal on Saturday, March 5 at 2 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall for Jehovah's Witnesses, 353 Belmont Ave. in Belfast.
Arrangements are under the care of Riposta Funeral Home.
