Knox County Sheriff’s beat: Motor vehicle burglaries, arrest warrants, assault
The Knox County Sheriff's office received 293 calls for service from Feb.-13. Those calls that are not listed below include agency assists, animal problems, bail and warrant checks, business and residential alarms, business and residential property checks, check-ins, citizen assists, civil disputes, crisis interventions, death investigations, nuisances complaints, court paper service, motor vehicle crashes, police information, suspicious persons and circumstances, traffic hazards, and traffic stops. An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at criminal proceedings.
Feb. 7
Following a traffic stop in Union, Deputy Scott Redmun summoned Thomaston Legg, 26, of Union, for speeding.
Following a bail check in St. George, Deputy Arthur Smith summoned Troy Crane, 51, of St. George, for violation of conditional release.
Feb. 9
Following a warrant check in Rockland, Deputy Nathaniel Jack arrested Aaron Hornbeck-Fielder, 37, of Portland, for two active warrants.
Following a traffic stop in Rockland, Jack summoned Timothy Silva, 29, of Rockland, for operating an unregistered vehicle over 150 days and failure to provide evidence of insurance.
Following a warrant check in Rockland, Detective Dwight Burtis arrested Duane Natale, 37, of South Thomaston, for three active warrants.
Deputy Paul Spear responded to a reported protection order violation in Cushing; the incident is under investigation.
Following a traffic stop in Warren, Jack summoned Evan Winchenbach, 28, of Waldoboro, for criminal speed.
Feb. 10
Following a warrant check in Rockland, Jack arrested Jennifer Porter, 38, of Warren, for one active warrant.
Jack responded to a report of a theft in Warren; the incident is under investigation.
Following a warrant check in Rockland, Spear arrested Heath Prior, 31, of Cushing, for three active warrants.
Following a bail check in Washington, Deputy Jeremy Joslyn summoned Sharon Cross, 33, of Washington, for violation of conditional release.
Lt. Reginald Walker, Sgt. Patrick Polky, Joslyn and Redmun responded to a report of a robbery in Union; the incident is under investigation.
Following a traffic stop in Owls Head, Spear summoned Katherine Hamel (no age or town listed) for failure to provide evidence of insurance.
Feb. 11
Jack responded to several reports of motor vehicle burglaries in Union and Appleton. The incidents are under investigation.
Following a traffic stop in Warren, Smith summoned George C. Hall & Sons, of Rockland, for failure to display valid inspection sticker.
Smith responded to a report of an assault in Rockland. Joshua Mcgee, 32, of Portland, was summoned for assault and disorderly conduct. Eldon Bennett, 32, of Rockport and Aaron Hornbeck-Fielder, 37, of Portland, were summoned for disorderly conduct.
Following a traffic stop in Union, Joslyn summoned Benjamin Pollis, 22, of Warren, for operating after suspension, attaching false registration plates, speed, and failure to provide evidence of insurance.
Jack responded to a report of a burglary in Appleton; the incident is under investigation.
Following a traffic stop in Thomaston, Spear summoned Carlton Elliott, 27, of Waldoboro, for operating after license suspension.
Feb. 12
Following a warrant check in Rockland, Detective Justin Twitchell arrested Joseph Marble, 25, of Rockland, for an active warrant.
Following a traffic stop in Union, Smith summoned Saralyn Burgess, 33, of Union, for speed.
Deputy Justin Hills conducted a traffic detail on North Haven, no arrests or summonses reported.
Following a traffic stop in Hope, Redmun summoned Michelle Pease, 35, of Hope, for failure to produce evidence of insurance.
Following a traffic stop in Thomaston, Spear summoned Casey Kruger, 31, of Rockland, for operating a motor vehicle with an expired registration over 150 days.
Feb. 13
Following a bail check in Friendship, Joslyn arrested Kevin Weeks, 29, of Friendship, for a violation of conditional release. Joslyn also summoned Weeks for furnishing liquor to minors and furnishing a place for minors to consume liquor.
