Camden man remains in jail after charged with assaulting child, woman
ROCKLAND — A Camden man who was arrested Feb. 8 for allegedly assaulting a child and a woman after he had been drinking while watching the Super Bowl, remained in Knox County Jail as of Feb. 12.
Gregory Rogerson made his initial court appearance Feb. 8 in Knox County Unified Court in Rockland and his bail was set at $2,500 cash.
Camden Police Officer Jeffrey Boudreau charged Gregory A. Rogerson, 35, of Camden, with two counts of domestic violence assault after he responded to an incident at a residence on Matthew John Avenue in the early morning hours of Feb. 8.
According to the police report, Rogerson got into an argument with the 12-year-old child after he told him to go to bed. The younger victim went into his bedroom and Rogerson allegedly followed him there and allegedly threw him on the bed and held him so hard that it left red marks on the side of his neck, his right shoulder and front right torso. Rogerson told police that the child was being disrespectful and needed to be taught a lesson.
When the woman, who was the second victim, attempted to stop the alleged assault by pushing Rogerson off the child, he shoved her, according to the police report.
Rockport Police Officer Jim Moore also responded to assist at the Camden residence.
Rogerson’s next court appearance is scheduled for March 7 in Knox County Unified Court.
