Islesboro Police beat: Shellfish and hunting details, rescued juvenile eagle
ISLESBORO — The Islesboro Police Department reported the following activity for Aug. 24 to Sept. 13, 2015. A summons does not constitute a finding of guilt.
Aug. 24
• Public Safety Director Fred Porter received a report of an animal problem on Meadow Pond Road; upon further investigation the complaint was deemed unfounded.
Aug. 25:
• Porter conducted a welfare check on Ryder Cove Road.
• Porter conducted a parking enforcement detail on Ferry Road; one violation cited.
Aug. 26:
• Porter responded to a 911 mis-dial on Aldrich Road; everyone at the residence was fine.
Aug. 27:
• Porter received a report of a motor vehicle complaint on Main Road; upon further investigation the complaint was deemed unfounded.
Aug. 28:
• Porter conducted a shellfish detail by boat near 700 Acre Island; no violations.
• Porter responded to a burglary complaint on Ferry Road; the complaint is under investigation.
• Porter conducted a parking enforcement detail on Ferry Road; no violations cited.
Aug. 29:
• Porter responded to a criminal mischief complaint on Main Road; Porter met with the parties and was able to resolve the complaint.
• Public Safety Director Fred Porter received a report of an alarm on Utgoff Lane; the complaint was resolved by the caretaker.
Sept. 1:
• Porter conducted a shellfish detail (Mill Dam, Parkers Cove, Hutchins Island) no violations.
Sept. 3:
• Porter conducted a shellfish detail (Mill Dam, Broad Cove, Crow Cove, Hutchins Island) no violations.
Sept. 5:
• Porter conducted a public assist on Ferry Road
Sept. 8:
• Public Safety Director Fred Porter received a report of a vehicle crash on Heald Road; upon further investigation. It was deemed a non-reportable crash as it occurred on private property.
• Porter conducted shellfish details on Ryder Cove Lane and Point Comfort Road; no violations.
• Porter received a report of a wildlife problem on West Bay Road; the officer assisted the Maine Warden Service in recovering a juvenile eagle.
• Porter received a report of fraud on Meadow Pond Road.
Sept. 9:
• Porter received a civil complaint on Main Road.
Sept. 10:
• Porter received a report of a wildlife problem on Main Road; A report of a eagle on the side of the road at the narrows, when the officer arrived the eagle was gone.
Sept. 11:
• Porter assisted EMS on Ryders Cove Road.
Sept. 12:
• Porter conducted a hunting detail on Meadow Pond Road; no violations.
• Porter conducted a shellfish detail ( Mill Dam, Parkers Cove, Hutchins Island) one digger checked; no violations.
• Porter conducted an agency assist with the State of Maine on Main Road.
• Porter conducted a hunting detail on Main Road; no violations.
Sept. 13:
• Porter received a report of suspicious activity on Main Road; under investigation.
