Dow Furniture raises funds for Travis Mills Foundation and the veterans it serves at Miles for Mills 5K
BRUNSWICK — Dow Furniture participated in the 14th annual Miles for Mills Memorial Day Weekend Race on Sunday, May 25, 2025, in Brunswick, Maine. The Dow Furniture Team showed up strong, according to Dow Furniture, in a news release, with employees and friends walking, running, and rucking in support of the Travis Mills Foundation—honoring veterans, their families, and those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Through its Memorial Day promotion and a special partnership donation with Ashley Furniture, Dow Furniture contributed a total of $3,000 to the Travis Mills Foundation. This includes $2,000 from a portion of sales during the Memorial Day Sale and an additional $1,000 from one of Dow Furniture’s key vendors, Ashley Furniture.
The event continues to draw strong community support and saw a great turnout again this year. Over the years, Miles for Mills has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to help support recalibrated veterans and their families.
The Travis Mills Foundation, founded by U.S. Army Staff Sergeant (Ret.) Travis Mills, provides barrier-free retreats and adaptive programs to help post-9/11 veterans and their families overcome physical and emotional challenges. Mills, a quadruple amputee, is a nationally recognized motivational speaker who often shares the motto he lives by: “Never give up. Never quit.”
“We give these families a chance to understand that no matter what happens in life, we can push forward. You’ve got to find your new normal—and we’re here to help,” Mills has said.
The foundation’s retreat in Maine’s Belgrade Lakes Region offers a unique sanctuary where families reconnect, recover, and recharge together. The lasting impact of this work has transformed lives and strengthened bonds.
“At Dow Furniture, it’s an honor to support the Travis Mills Foundation,” said Wilmot Dow, General Manager. “Partnering with organizations that serve veterans and their families—and help us remember those who have sacrificed so much—is deeply important to us.”
