Waldoboro surveys citizens about broadband
With the authorization of the Waldoboro Select Board, the Economic Development Committee is conducting a survey to obtain information about Internet services in Waldoboro. Each and every Waldoboro household, business, and property owner should have received a survey in the mail over the past week, according to a news release from the committee.
Survey results will assist in applying for funds to help finance the design of an improved broadband network that better meets the needs of Waldoboro’s residents and businesses.
“We’re all aware that some areas of Waldoboro have better Internet service than others and that some areas have no service at all,” the town said. “It’s important to ensure high speed broadband Internet access is available to all Waldoboro residents and businesses. A good broadband network design requires a comprehensive body of data pinpointing where Internet service is absent and where Internet service falls short.
“Your response to this survey is vital. More responses allow for a more informed, more comprehensive network design. Help us in our quest to expand access to high-speed Internet broadband by taking five to 10 minutes to complete the survey.”
Completed surveys can be left at or mailed to the Waldoboro Town Office.
