Waldoboro Police beat: Gasoline drive-offs, theft, criminal mischief
WALDOBORO - Waldoboro police responded to 296 calls for service from Sept. 14-22. Listed below are a few of the highlights. An arrest or summons does not apply guilt. A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
Sept. 14
Officer John Lash investigated an accident on Winslow’s Mills Road at 8:54 p.m. Taylor Cassidy, 16, of Washington, was driving a 2004 Mazda sedan. Cassidy’s vehicle was travelling south on Winslow’s Mills Road, hit a soft shoulder in the southbound lane, over corrected into the northbound lane and struck a utility pole. Driver complained of poor visibility due to heavy rain. No injuries were reported.
Sept. 16
Karena Parker, 38, of Waldoboro, was issued a summons by Officer Thomas Bartunek for theft and violation of conditional release.
Bartunek is investigating a report from a resident that she was assaulted.
Sept. 17
Russell Griffin, 49, of Waldoboro, was issued a summons by Officer Steven Drake for harvesting shellfish without a town license.
Officer Larry Hesseltine is investigating a report from a resident of criminal mischief to his mailbox.
Sept. 20
Officer Jeffery Fuller is investigating a report from Maritime Farms of a $38.03 gasoline drive-off. The driver of the vehicle was located and returned to pay for the gasoline.
Sept. 21
Fuller is investigating a report from Maritime Farms of a $40.06 gasoline drive-off.
