Waldoboro Police beat: Criminal mischief, stolen iPad and medication
WALDOBORO - Waldoboro police responded to 286 calls for service from Aug. 10-18. Listed below are a few of the highlights. An arrest or summons does not imply guilt. A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
Aug. 12
Officer Larry Hesseltine is investigating a report from a resident of approximately $1,300 in damage from criminal mischief at his residence.
Aug. 13
Hesseltine investigated an accident on Friendship Road at 9:15 a.m. Misty Porter, 33, of Waldoboro, was driving a 2000 Chrysler sedan. Porter’s vehicle was travelling southbound and swerved right to avoid a dead porcupine in the roadway. Her vehicle left the roadway on the right side and traveled down the shoulder of the road before hitting a utility pole and coming to rest.
Aug. 14
Officer Chris Spear is investigating a report from a resident of criminal mischief to his motor vehicle tire. The approximate value of the damage is $150.
Aug. 15
Officer Jeffery Fuller is investigating a report from a resident that her motor vehicle was broken into and an iPad, valued at $160, and some medication were stolen.
Simon Frost, 39, of Whitefield, was issued a summons by Spear for failure to register motor vehicle and uninspected motor vehicle.
A 16-year-old female, of Waldoboro, was issued a summons by Spear for domestic violence assault.
Aug. 16
Stephen Parece, 29, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Officer Jeffery Fuller on a warrant.
Aug. 17
Dimitra Crudell, 24, of Waldoboro, was issued a summons by Officer John Lash for assault.
Aug. 18
Roger Feltis, 23, of Waldoboro, was issued a summons by Officer William Bragg for harvesting clams without a town license.
Hesseltine investigated an accident on Atlantic Highway at 11:00 a.m. Mehri Pourshadi, 52, of Arlington, Mass., was driving a 2011 Toyota utility vehicle. Jessica Burnick, 25, of Waldoboro, was driving a 2010 Toyota sedan. Pourshadi’s vehicle was travelling southbound and entered the Dunkin Donuts parking lot. Burnick’s vehicle was backing out of a parking space at Dunkin Donuts. Pourshadi’s vehicle backed into Burnick’s vehicle as it was entering a parking space. No injuries were reported.
