Vose library announces February events
UNION — The Vose library, will present the following events in February. The library is located at 392 Common Road.
Saturday, Feb. 6, 2 p.m.
Love & Chocolate Author Visit: Susan Vaughan
Get in the Valentines mood with a visit from local romance author Susan Vaughan. She will read from and talk about Always a Suspect, the prequel book In her Task Force Eagle romantic suspense series, and answer questions from the audience.
The book features Claire, a widow multiple times, and Michael, a burned-out federal agent investigating her late husband. The book has passion, danger, and a Maine winter setting.
Sample chocolate with hot cocoa and tea and stay warm.
Thursday, Feb. 11, 6-8 p.m.
Heirloom Seeds - Neil Lash
A talk by Neil Lash, the co-founder and current director of the Heirloom Seed Project at Medomak Valley High School. Heirloom seeds grown at Medomak Valley have been swapped with such places as Monticello, Mount Vernon, and most recently Baker Creek Seed Company.
In December 2015, 'Bere' barley seeds were sent to Kintyre, Scotland to be used to restore the once common Vikings variety that is now extinct on the Kintyre peninsula.
The seeds grown for Baker Creek Seed Company will be available via their online seed catalog. Part of Vose Library's Plant Series programs.

Puppet Play Storytime
Ashwood Waldorf School early-childhood teacher Beth Lunt will present a seasonal puppet play and a simple morning circle and/or simple craft activity for young children. A series of four, Feb. 26, April 8 and 29, and May 6.
Saturday, Feb. 27, 10 a.m.
Snowman Competition
Kids of all ages are invited to go wild with imagination! Snow sculptures will compete in a number of fun categories: smallest, largest, silliest, most colorful, most realistic, most creative, best creature, and best by a 12+ creator.
Bring a shovel, decorations, etc. Dress warmly. There will be hot cocoa and snacks.
(In case the weather is uncooperative, an alternative indoor snowman activity will be available.)
