WARREN — Two people were taken to the hospital after a head-on collision at the intersection of Oyster River Road and Patterson Mill Road, in Warren, Friday afternoon, Jan. 31.
One neighbor didn’t witness the crash, yet reported hearing a ‘pow’ just after 3:30 p.m. At the time, he’d thought nothing of it, believing that the source of the noise was a truck towing a trailer through the same stretch just beforehand. Only when the neighbor looked outside and saw vehicles coming to a stop did he realize something was amiss.
For approximately 40 minutes, members of the Warren Fire Department closed that section of Oyster River Road while Warren and Waldoboro ambulance crews tended to the two drivers, and deputies analyzed a dark skid mark on the side of the road along the hill where the crash occurred.
Oyster River Towing hauled the vehicles away.
The road was reopened just before 4:30 p.m.
