Six architects to present to Rockport Library Committee
The Rockport Ad Hoc Library Planning Committee is is holding sessions with prospective library architects March 16 and 17, at the Rockport Opera House. The six architectural firms, which were solicited through a municipal request for credentials, will present to the committee and the public beginning Wednesday afternoon.
The architects will not be posing plans; they will, however, be talking about their own approaches to solving the design and engineering challenges for the future Rockport Public Library.
The presentations will help the committee narrow down the selection to the top three, with the final firm recommended to the Rockport Select Board on March 24. Out of 11 responses by architects, the six firms that will be presenting (and their scheduled times) are:
Priestley and Associates Architects, of Rockport, March 17, 12:15 p.m.
Reed & Co. Architecture, of Portland, March 17, 1:30 p.m.
Stahnke & Kitagawa Architects, of Brooksville, March 16, 1:30 p.m.
Stephen G. Smith Architects, of Camden, March 17, 11 a.m.
Stewart Brecher Architects, of Bar Harbor, March 16, 11 a.m.
Winton Scott Architects, of Portland, March 16, 12:15 p.m.
The public is invited to the presentations. They will also be streamed at livestream.com/Rockportmaine
