Searsport man killed in China crash
CHINA — Maine State Police said Wednesday that 37-year-old Richard Breau of Searsport died after his car overturned on a curve while he was driving Sept. 29 along Route 3 in China.
Breau is said to have crashed near S&T Motors, where his car left the road, hit an embankment and flipped over. The 2004 Volvo landed back on its wheels. Breau, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the car, which landed on him, according to a press release.
The crashed was reported around noon. Breau was traveling alone.
In the release, Trooper Jeremiah Wesbrock said Breau had a revoked Massachusetts driver's license and “if he had been wearing his seat belt, he likely would have survived the crash.”
