Rockport Planning Board begins review of proposed major land use ordinance changes
On January 25, at a regularly scheduled meeting, the Rockport Planning Board will review and possibly make recommendations for the Select Board concerning a major overhaul of the town’s land ordinance, specifically in relation to housing, accessory dwelling units, rentals and short-term rentals. The revisions come in large part to Maine law passed in 2022, An Act To Implement the Recommendations of the Commission To Increase Housing Opportunities in Maine by Studying Zoning and Land Use Restrictions.
The meeting will take place in the downstairs Rockport Library meeting room, Jan. 25, at 5:30 p.m.

Consideration of proposed amendments to the Land Use Zoning Map in regards to changing the zoning on a parcel located at on Park St. and know as Map 35 Lot 073-001. This proposal is to change the current zone from 908 Rural district to the abutting 902 Village district.
Consideration of proposed amendments to the Land Use Zoning Map in regards to changing the zoning on a parcel located at off of Route 90 and known as Map 25 Lot 133. This proposal is to change the current zone from 904 Residential to the abutting 907 Mixed Business Residential.
