Rockport man charged with assault and criminal threatening while in jail
ROCKLAND — Knox County Sheriff Deputy John Hansen responded to the Knox County Jail Oct. 26 for a reported assault on a Corrections Officer, according to a news release from the sheriff’s department.
When Hansen arrived at the jail he found that Tyrone Trask, 55, of Rockport, had been confined to a restraint chair. Trask is currently being held at the Knox County Jail for a number of previous charges.
According to Corrections Officers, Trask had been combative and while he was being placed in the restraint chair, had allegedly spit in the face of one of the Officers. Trask was also threatening physical harm and death to all involved as soon as he was released, the sheriff’s office said.
Trask was charged with assault on an Officer (Class C felony) and three counts of criminal threatening (Class D). Trask remains at the Knox County Jail, police said.
