Rockland commends officer Troy Peasley for 20 years of service
ROCKLAND — Traffic Officer Troy Peasley of the Rockland Police Department received a certificate of commendation during the Monday, Aug. 10, city council meeting.
Peasley, who started working with the force in 1995, is known locally for his involvement with the Special Olympics and the International Law Enforcement Torch Run.
Along with being an officer in a blue uniform, “Troy is the face of the city to the public,” said Councilor Larry Pritchett. “Even though he occasionally issues expensive citations, he also does a very professional job of welcoming people, answering direction questions, pointing people in the right direction.”
Peasley has done a tremendous job and is a warm, friendly face, said Pritchett.
Chief Bruce Boucher thanked Peasley for his work in Rockland. About Peasley’s Special Olympics services, Boucher referred to him as “an ambassador, not only in the City of Rockland, but all over.”
Peasley has been to New Orleans, Beijing and Calgary.
Deputy Chief Chris Young, who has worked with Peasley for almost the entire 20 years, referred to Peasley as a constant team player, someone to be relied upon, and a great source of assistance.
“I appreciate all that you do within the agency, Troy,” Young said.
